Update (December 4, 2019): WOW. One day, one mission, one big thank you. Our fundraising goal for #GivingTuesday2019 was $1,000 and with your help, we were able to bring in over $2,500!! Our thanks to the generous late night donations in honor of Chelsea, Isaac, Dawson, Noah, Xavier K, Amelia, Caleb H, Ethan, Jackson, Garrett and additional contributions in honor of children recognized earlier in the day (a total of 28 honorees!). Our incredible and generous ACDA community more than doubled our initial goal!

We give our thanks to those who donated to the ACDA yesterday. The money raised will be contributed directly to ACD research and supports the efforts of the medical community to find the cause of and cure for ACD.

Thanks to generous donations this afternoon in honor of Barrett, Annabelle, Dean, Callie, Brando, Ayla, Fallon and Ezekiel, we not only met our goal of $1,000 for ACD Research on #GivingTuesday2019, but we exceeded our goal for an outstanding total of $1,818.44 as of right now! The day is not over yet if you would like to make a donation to find the cause of and cure for ACD in honor of a loved one. We will make a final update post tomorrow morning! Update (November 26, 2019): It’s coming! We’ve got just one week until one historic day of giving. #GivingTuesday Please help us successfully kick off the holiday giving season by supporting the ACDA on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 for Giving Tuesday!

Background: It seems the holiday season begins earlier every year, but the frenzy of shopping truly launches the day after Thanksgiving, commonly known as #BlackFriday. As more and more people began to turn to online shopping, #CyberMonday emerged too. Although all this shopping is done in the name of giving gifts to loved ones, it sometimes feels like the goodwill of the holiday season fades into the background. In 2012, a few nonprofit professionals decided to do something about it and raised over $10 million in the inaugural event. But Giving Tuesday was just getting started. By 2016, the giving day raised over $177 million online and over $400 million online in 2018!

• When: The Tuesday following Black Friday
• Where: Everywhere. Organizations all over the world participate

The biggest giving month of the year is right around the corner. In fact, about a third of all charitable giving happens in December. Please help us successfully kick off the holiday giving season by promoting the #GivingTuesday campaign on December 3, 2019 in support of the ACDA.
